Grab a hoodie! The temperatures are cooling, and the leaves are becoming colorful. Summer is quickly becoming fall, and winter will soon be on us. The seasons are changing, and this can serve as an illustration of how quickly life can change.

One day everything seems predictable. The next day circumstances shift, plans change, and uncertainty appears. If you’re like me, this is unnerving. I dislike change, but there is one constant. The Bible reminds us God never changes.

In Malachi 3:6, God says, “I am the Lord, and I do not change.” 

Amid all life’s transitions, the Lord stays the same.

• His character remains the same.
• His love remains the same.
• His promises remain the same.

“For God has said, ‘I will never fail you. I will never abandon you” (Hebrews 13:5).

• When financial situations change, God remains faithful.
• When relationships change, God remains faithful.
• When our health changes, God remains faithful.
• When our emotions rise and fall, God remains faithful.

The stability we long for is not found in circumstances. It is found in Christ. “Jesus Christ is the same today, yesterday, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). The world around us may feel uncertain at times, but the one who holds the world in his hands remains unchanged.

Today, anchor your heart in that truth.

The God who guided you yesterday is the same God who walks with you today and will lead you tomorrow.
