What if the answer to your fear isn’t having everything figured out, but knowing who is standing beside you?

Fear has a way of capturing our attention. It fills our minds with questions, causes us to imagine the worst, and convinces us that somehow we have to figure everything out on our own; however, Zephaniah gives us a different picture.

“For the LORD your God is living among you… With his love, he will calm all your fears” (Zephaniah 3:17).

God doesn’t simply stand beside us while we are afraid. His love can quiet the fear that is overwhelming us.

What a beautiful promise.

• When your heart is troubled, God is near.
• When your mind won’t stop racing, God is near.
• When tomorrow feels uncertain, God is near.

And his presence changes everything.

We sometimes think we need to solve every problem before we can have peace, but Scripture points us in a different direction. Our peace doesn’t come from knowing exactly how everything will work out. Our peace comes from knowing the one who holds everything in his hands.

God’s love can quiet the fears that circumstances cannot. The situation may not change immediately. The unanswered question may still be there. Tomorrow may still be uncertain, but you don’t have to face any of it alone.

The Lord promises he is with you, and he is greater than the fear that is troubling you.

So when fear gets loud today, remember Zephaniah 3:17.

• God is with you.
• God delights in you.
• God loves you.
• And God can calm your fears.

You can take a deep breath. . You don’t have to have everything figured out right now. You can rest in the presence of the one who does.
