Is God disappointed in us?  Sometimes we think he is. We know our mistakes. We remember our failures. We see the things we wish we could change, and we assume God must look at us the same way. However, the Bible says the Lord delights in us.

Zephaniah 3:17 paints an encouraging picture:

“For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”

Dwell on this truth for a moment.

God delights in you.

He doesn’t merely love you because he has to. You aren’t a burden he reluctantly carries. Scripture says he rejoices over you with joyful songs. This is an incredible picture of God’s affection!

When we’re anxious about what we’ve done, what might happen tomorrow, or whether we’re enough, God’s love reminds us that our worth isn’t determined by our circumstances or our performance.

• You don’t have to earn God’s delight.
• You don’t have to become perfect before he can love you.
• You are already someone he delights in.
• You are someone who is priceless to him.

Imagine how different our prayers might become if we truly believed that. Instead of approaching God like a disappointed judge, we could approach Him as our loving Father—knowing He welcomes us, loves us, and delights in us.

Today, remember this: You are not a burden to God. You are deeply loved, the Lord delights in you, and you are priceless to him.
