Priceless Creation: A Craftsman at Work

Did you know you are priceless in the Lord’s eyes? Here’s a reminder from Psalm 139.

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
for your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

A Craftsmen at Work

Intentional. That’s how we can describe God’s attitude in forming us. It was a personal, thoughtful design. He was a craftsman hard at work creating a masterpiece. Every gene thoughtfully woven; every part wonderfully placed. Our hair color was thoughtfully chosen. The color of our eyes was skillfully picked. Each of us is God’s handywork.

We aren’t accidently made; the Lord intentionally created us. We aren’t generically produced on an assembly line. Each of us is uniquely crafted to fulfill a plan and purpose only we can. This means you are God’s masterpiece. The Lord sees you as someone who is priceless!

Dwell on this truth today. How does viewing yourself as God’s masterpiece help you battle the criticisms of the world?

God’s Reflection in Nature

The sunshine, the clouds, snowflakes, rain, flowers, grass, and trees all point to the Lord. All of nature helps us see God’s hand at work. From its beauty and majesty to its complex makeup, nature reflects the glory of its Creator.

Job questioned God’s location during his pain and suffering, and his friend Elihu reminded Job looking at nature shows God at work. In Job 37, Elihu points to a variety of nature’s aspects as evidence God is in control. Sun, moon, snow, thunder, and lightning are all within his control. Man can do nothing more than study these parts of nature, but God controls them. Elihu continues in verses 14-18:

14 “Listen to this, Job;
    stop and consider God’s wonders.
15 Do you know how God controls the clouds
    and makes his lightning flash?
16 Do you know how the clouds hang poised,
    those wonders of him who has perfect knowledge?
17 You who swelter in your clothes
    when the land lies hushed under the south wind,
18 can you join him in spreading out the skies,
    hard as a mirror of cast bronze?”

The Lord uses nature as a reflection of his power as he reveals himself to Job. In chapters 40 and 41, God uses creation as an illustration of his power. There are animals’ man cannot tame. We cannot control them, yet God created them. There are many elements of nature which are beyond our control, yet God controls their coming and going with a single word. He is an all-powerful God, and he cares for us.

The next time you find yourself going through a hard time, take note of nature. The same God that created the world takes time to count the number of hairs on your head. The Bible guarantees the Lord will be with us and help us get through the tough seasons of life.

God is Everywhere

“Out of the quiet, I heard his voice.”

Church In A Chevy

Jordan Davis reminds us the Lord is just not in a church building. He’s everywhere.

The Lord’s fingerprints can be found all over creation. The beautiful sunrise over the mountains is his work. The beauty of ocean waves lapping to the seashore is his work. The awe of stars twinkling and moon shining in a night darkened sky is his work. And, the breath-taking mosaic that is your life is the Lord’s masterpiece. The Lord is everywhere; he is not restrained to a single geographical location.

Take a moment today to gaze at the beauty you see before you. Be sure to thank the Lord for what he has done. His creation is a beautiful testimony of his love for you and me.
